Immanuel Lutheran Preschool's philosophies are simple; Bible lesson are simple and true no matter what your faith is. God loves us. He is a special part of us, a conscience that guides us in our daily journey. Prayer gives us the opportunity to talk to God, any time or place, about anything. We use many familiar Bible stories throughout the year to teach this message.
Childhood is a time of discovery and adventure. Children need time and space for discovery. Our philosophy at Immanuel Lutheran Preschool maintains that children learn best by doing and we provide many hands-on activities for creative, sensory and interactive experiences. Each little person is a valuable, unique individual so we provide opportunities for his or her self expression. The Immanuel Lutheran Preschool curriculum and environment encourages creativity in thought and play. Children are encouraged to put their thoughts into words and communicate their ideas.

February is all about Love. We will share our love for our Grandparents and the special love they share with us this month. By now, all the valentines and invitations have been mailed out. I can't wait for the big day. It's a wonderful treat for me to meet so many special people gathered together to share in our special day. How lucky we are! (Please bring a shoebox to decorate and a valentine for each child in class, to pass out.)
We will also share our love and fascination for Dinosaurs this month. I know many children who use their awesome imaginations to live out dinosaur adventures. And I think the reason it is so fascinating to children and adults alike is because there can be no right or wrong. No one was there, so we don't know all the facts about the dinosaurs. What color were they? How did they live their everyday lives? How did they take care of their babies? We will just have to keep learning.
To break up the doldrums of winter, both classes will go on a field trip this month, Feb. 28 and 29. The 3 - 4 class will go to Buzee Bodeez. And the Pre - K class will go bowling. I will need volunteers to help drive.
Our annual Cookie Dough Sale (Feb. 3 - Feb. 22) will kick off this Sunday at Immanuel Lutheran Church Coffee hour, from 8:30 - 10:15. I will have the cookie dough ready to bake and we'll have samples available for the congregation members between Services. We will also provide juice and coffee, along with a few other snacks. This is a great way to meet members of the Congregation, (and collect orders too!) This will fund the last of our responsibility toward the debt owed on the playground equipment. Thanks for your help.
Immanuel Preschool will hold its annual rummage sale on Sat. April 26. Please start to gather your clean, usable rummage sale items. They can be dropped off at Preschool anytime. Please let me know if you can help mark and sort items as they come in. It's much easier that way! Thanks for all you do!
